Street Dates A Reality?

Previously I wrote my ramblings on shipping products on time.  On Walmarts Blog they briefly spoke about using street dates for releases at Sony’s Destination Playstation event last week. From this you gather that everyone wants the product to be available in stores, in all retail chains, on the same day as the Music and Movie business do. I agree with this. Currently, games are just shipped and trickle in throughout the week at various stores. Why not make the media available on Tuesday worldwide? That is when everyone expects their big new movie releases to DVD and new CD releases as well. Why not games? They also comment on 1 retailer not wanting this. I will personally assume it is Gamestop. You know, their whole pre-order routine…

Oh Sony

Today has been a floodgate of news from Sony. This week the event “Destination Playstation” is being held for retailers and 3rd parties. From this event several goodies were released and only 2 were published on the Playstation.Blog and via press release. Some of the good bits released today were:

• MGS4 Bundled w/ 80gb PS3 AND DS3 controller in June.
• MGO Beta for pre-order buyers in April.
• DS3 controller on sale for $54.99 on April 15th.
• Red God of War PSP Bundle w/ Superbad UMD for $200 in June.
• Playstation Store Redesign launch April 15th.

These are some pretty good news. I definitely can’t wait for the store update as well as the MGO Beta. I assumed MGS4 would be released a bit earlier but it’s all good.

Now, to enjoy some Patapon, which is a must buy for ANYONE with a PSP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Look: How To “Do Work”

So, I got the new blog up. Depending where you are reading this (WordPress or Tirminyl.net), I hope you like. If not, then too bad. I had it set one way, and then just cranked it out the other day as I have been very busy lately. School is starting up next week, sigh, and I will have no life at all. I will be taking Game Simulation Programming. Anyway, I have a checklist running of things I need to fix, and things I would love to add to the blog. I hope I can continue to knock these items out. It only helps me really. I use this blog as a tech test for work. Not that anything is technical about the blog. I also have a check list for the main page. I *could* have made the home page the blog, or I could redirect. In-fact, I will redirect the main page to the blog until I get some of the check list items done, pending time available to do so.

Anyway, I will continue to enhance and play with various ideas I have. The easy stuff is done, and now it’s time to expand a little.
